Device treatment method and system for cable modem terminal system (CMTS)

The invention provides a device treatment method and system for a cable modem terminal system (CMTS). The method comprises the following steps: one or more CMTS devices establish a connection with a centralized management server through a network; the one or more CMTS devices obtain configuration information from the centralized management server according to the established connection; the centralized management server performs control treatment on the one or more CMTS devices according to the configuration information. Through the method and the system provided by the invention, the problems of trivial management work and poor controllability of a distributed network in management of the CMTS by adopting SNMP (simple network management protocol) in the prior art are solved, and the effects of performing centralized management on the distributed CMTS in the network, optimizing the structure of the system, simplifying the management work of the network and obviously enhancing the controllability of the distributed network are further achieved.
