| Zusammenfassung: | The invention provides a ball end mill capable of conducting the large-depth cutting operation, whrein the front end of the ball end mill is free from deviating from the ball shape and reducing the generation of cutting residues. The ball end mill (1) is composed of a ball-shaped part (21) at the front end portion (2) thereof when rotating around about an axis X, and an arc-shaped ball head edge (52) configured to keep away from the rotation central part of the front end portion thereof. Meanwhile, the surface roughness Rz of the rotation central part of the front end portion is equal to 10 mum or larger than 10 mum. By means of the rough surface of the rotation central part of the front end portion, the to-be-cut material is ground and machined. |
