The human body action recognition method comprises the following steps: obtaining a video streaming of photographed human body action; extracting video images of consecutive frames from the video streaming; carrying out maximum entropy binarization treatment on the video images of the consecutive frames and obtaining binary images corresponding to the video images of the consecutive frames; extracting a moving track of the human body action from the consecutive binary images. Through the human body action recognition method and device, the problem of low action recognition speed in the prior art is solved.
