Zusammenfassung:	The invention provides an iridium complex and a preparation method thereof and belongs to the technical field of electrophosphorescent materials. The preparation method comprises the steps of preparation for a cyclometalated ligand, preparation for a chloro bridged iridium complex as well as preparation and refining of a coarse product of the iridium complex. The finally-obtained structural formula is the iridium complex defined as the description. The CH2Cl2 solution of the iridium complex can emit blue phosphorescence under laser of 400nm, and CIE(x, y) chromaticity coordinates are (0.14, 0.22). The blue phosphorescence iridium complex disclosed by the invention has higher phosphorescent emission performance and can be used as a luminous material of an organic electrophosphorescent device.
