The invention provides a method and a device for detecting electrocardio waveforms through a computer. The method comprises the following steps of obtaining M heart rate waveform data, wherein M is positive integer; clustering the M heart rate waveform data into at least one first cluster by a clustering method; selecting the first cluster with maximum number of heart rate waveform data from at least one first cluster; according to the selected first cluster, generating a standard heart rate template. The device comprises an obtaining unit, a first clustering unit, a first selection unit and a generation unit, wherein the obtaining unit is used for obtaining the M heart rate waveform data, the first clustering unit is used for clustering the M heart rate waveform data into at least one first cluster according to the clustering method, the first selection unit is used for selecting the first cluster with maximum number of heart rate waveform data from at least one first cluster, and the generation unit is used for generating the standard heart rate template according to the selected first cluster. The method and the device have the advantages that the standard heart rate template is automatically generated by the computer, and the accuracy is higher.
