The invention relates to a timing method for an external bayonet of a 6A (vehicle-mounted safety protection) system of a locomotive. The timing comprises the following steps of after a card board of the 6A system of the locomotive receives TAX information and microcomputer cabinet information, (1) judging the time information of the TAX information, filling the time information into 'microcomputer cabinet data frame', or setting the time information in the 'replying microcomputer cabinet data frame' as invalid information; (2) after the microcomputer cabinet data frame is received, sending the 'replying microcomputer cabinet data frame' in the step (1) to a microcomputer cabinet. The timing method has the beneficial effects that a phase-locked loop technology is utilized, the synchronizing clock is restored in the TAX information, so the time synchronizing between the 6A system and a TAX box is guaranteed, and the safety foundation is provided for the safety running of the locomotive.
