Furthermore, the sensor (2) has a signal generation circuit (7) which is connected upstream of the at least one transmitting electrode (5) and is intended to generate a transmission signal (SE). In this case, the signal generation circuit (7) generates the transmission signal (SE) in the form of a square-wave pulse signal corresponding directly to a pseudo-random bit string.
