Energy-using treatment tool

A treatment part of a treatment tool for treating target body tissue by applying energy thereto has the following: a pair of jaws; an energy-release part that can release energy into the target body tissue; an insulating part that is electrically insulating, is positioned between the jaws and the energy-release part, and prevents electricity from flowing from the energy-release part to the jaws; outer edge parts provided on the jaws; a channel through which a fluid produced from the target body tissue as a result of the energy released from the energy-release part flows, said channel being formed by a combination of the side of the jaw on which the energy-release part is provided that faces the other jaw, the energy-release part, the insulating part, and the outer edge parts; and a support part that is positioned in the channel so as to cover at least part thereof while securing an entrance whereby the aforementioned fluid can flow into the channel and supports the body tissue so as to prevent tissue surrounding the target body tissue from getting into the channel.
