Zusammenfassung:	A user interface configuration method applied to configurating and monitoring a process factory computer system. A plurality of windows are formed in a screen area, each of the plurality of windows is positioned on its own place and has its own size. The method comprises the following steps: a navigation window is formed to display a group of selectable items of which each corresponds to a corresponding one of a plurality of objects; an order window is formed to display a group of selectable items of which each corresponds to a task to be executed on at least one of the plurality of the objects in a process factory, a user-defined request is received from a user, and the user-defined request is relevant to at least one of the plurality of windows; at least one of the following is designated: the position and the size of at least one of the plurality of the windows; user-defined layout of the plurality of the windows is formed according to the user-defined request; user-defined layout data describing the user-defined layout are stored in a database corresponding to the user.
