The invention relates to a method and device for the quick backup protection of a high-voltage side of a main transformer based on station region information. The method comprises the steps: judging an action element and a locking element; carrying out the quick backup protection of a rear high-voltage side through a time-delay element under the condition that the action element is started and the locking element is not started. The action element comprises a repressing element and/or an overcurrent element at the high-voltage side of the main transformer. The locking element comprises a locking signal at a low-voltage side or a medium-voltage side. The device comprises the action element and the locking element.
