The preparation method of the ester dissolved chlorinated polypropylene comprises the following steps: adding polypropylene and trichloromethane according to a certain ratio to be completely dissolved, then adding azobisisobutyronitrile, adding chlorine to react, controlling the drying temperature and the degree of vacuum to carry out drying for desolventizing to obtain the ester dissolved chlorinated polypropylene product. The ester dissolved chlorinated polypropylene prepared by the preparation method disclosed by the invention keeps the original characteristics of resin but also improves the solubility, so that the chlorinated polypropylene can be dissolved in ester solvents without relying on toxic and hazardous solvents such as toluene, and thus being in line with the development direction of green and environmental protection.
