The invention discloses a wire tightener used for replacing double insulator strings. The wire tightener comprises two sleeves (1), a handle assembly (2), a connection screw rod I (3) and a connection screw rod II (4), wherein the handle assembly comprises a ratchet mechanism and a handle, and the connection screw rod I and the connection screw rod II are connected with the insides of the sleeves in a threaded mode. The wire tightener further comprises a connection component I (5) and a connection component II (6), the connection component I is connected with the left end of the connection screw rod I through threads, the connection component II is provided with a left hanging plate (61) and a right hanging plate (62), a connection plate (41) is arranged on the right end face of the connection screw rod II, the right hanging plate is connected with double yoke plates of the double insulator strings through bolts, and the left hanging plate and the connection plate are provided with long circular bolt holes and are connected through bolts. By means of the detachable and replaceable hanging plates or hooks, the double yoke plates can be connected, the relative position and angle of the wire tightener and the double yoke plates can be adjusted according to installation positions, work safety is improved and work strength of operators is reduced.
