The invention discloses a brick wall mortar joint cleaning device and method. The device comprises supports (1), a protective jacket (2), an alloy saw blade (3), a transmission shaft (4) and a motor (5). The front of the alloy saw blade (3) extends out of an opening of the protective jacket (2), and the alloy saw blade (3) is fixed to the transmission shaft (4). The transmission shaft (4) is connected with an output shaft of the motor (5). Nozzles (9) are fixed to the supports (1). The cleaning method includes the key steps: horizontally moving the alloy saw blade (3) from front to back along the length direction of mortar joints via the cleaning device so as to cut a first mortar joint, then reversely driving the motor (5), and cutting a next mortar joint from back to front; opening the nozzles (9) every time the mortar joints are cut. By the cleaning device and cleaning method, labor intensity can be lowered, labor cost is saved, quickness and high efficiency are realized, and construction precision is high.
