Media library scanning method and device based on NTFS

The invention provides a media library scanning method and device based on NTFS. The method includes selecting a file as the file to be scanned; judging whether the file to be scanned contains first data stream of a media file identifier, wherein the first data stream of the media file identifier is built when the file is first scanned and analyzed to be the media file; if yes, judging whether the timestamp of the first data stream record is later than modification time of the file to be scanned; if yes, skipping the file to be scanned and selecting the next file as the file to be scanned; if no, scanning and analyzing the file to be scanned. By means of the method and device, the technical problems of low scanning speed and resource waste caused by the fact that the media file is analyzed repeatedly and all the files are scanned are solved.
