Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a noise standard deviation evaluation method. In the method, after an input image with a noise is received and filtering is performed on the input image for obtaining a smooth image, a difference between the input image and the smooth image is used as an original noise pattern. A boundary in the original noise pattern is pre-eliminated. A threshold T or a threshold function Tg is estimated from the noise pattern of which the boundary is pre-eliminated. A boundary in the original noise pattern is determined by the threshold T or the threshold function Tg. Furthermore the determined boundary is eliminated from the original noise pattern. Then the noise standard deviation is estimated from the noise pattern of which the boundary is eliminated.
