The power supply method for the display panel source electrode driver comprises the following steps of: analysing all grey-scale values of the current row of image data of video data to obtain a selected grey-scale value; determining an analogue power supply voltage on the basis of the selected grey-scale value; supplying power to the source electrode driver on the basis of the analogue power supply voltage. In the embodiment of the invention, a voltage for supplying power to the source electrode driver is adjusted with the changes of the grey-scale values of the current row of the image data of the video data, and the maximum power supply voltage does not need to be kept, thus reducing the power consumption of the display device.
