Disclosed is a polarization separator. The polarization separator comprises a substrate layer, an asymmetric Y-shaped optical waveguide and a pair of electrodes. The asymmetric Y-shaped optical waveguide comprises an input segment formed by diffusing a first material into a birefringence crystal material, a first branch formed by diffusing a second material, and a second branch formed by diffusing a third material. The Y-shaped optical waveguide is formed at the surface of the substrate layer. The first branch and the second branch are divergent from the input segment, a linear channel is formed between the first branch and the input segment, an included angle exists between the second branch and the input segment, and an interface is formed between the input segment and the first branch and the second branch; and the pair of electrodes are arranged at the surface of the substrate layer, are parallel to the input segment and are arranged at the two sides of the input segment.
