Zusammenfassung:The invention provides a medicinal new application of astilbin, and particularly relates to a fact that astilbin inhibits occurrence and development of pulmonary fibrosis through inhibition of expression of high mobility group box1 (HMGB1), so as to reach prevention or treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. In the application, the oral dosage of astilbin is in a range of 20 mg-2000 mg, preferably 20-1000 mg. The injection dosage of astilbin is in a range of 5 mg-1000 mg, preferably 5-500 mg.
