The invention discloses an extracting method, a detection method and application of total alkaloids in sophora tonkinensis. The extracting method comprises two ways: (1) conducting heating, backflow and extraction on sophora tonkinensis medicinal material by 70-95% ethyl alcohol to obtain fluid extract; conducting extraction with chloroform after watering suspension and acid adjusting treatment to obtain the total alkaloids; (2) conducting percolating extraction on the sophora tonkinensis medicinal material; conducting elution extraction by 732 cation exchange resin; conducting chloroform elution treatment on the resin to obtain the total alkaloids.
