The invention provides a laser wake field accelerator and a method for generating high-light attosecond light pulses. The laser wake field accelerator comprises a laser source used for generating driving laser and a vacuum chamber with a gas generating device and a focusing system. The gas generating device is provided with a gas target with an uprising density front edge in the driving laser broadcasting direction. The focusing system is used for focusing the driving laser.
