Solutoion to yarn breaking when winding yarn onto creel

The present invention relates to a winding machine (1) and a process for preventing yark breaking at a work station (2) of a textile machine (1) when winding a yarn (12) onto a cross-wound bobbin (4) in a creel (8) and a bobbin winder (1). In order to contine the the winding process, the yarn connected with the cross-wound bobbin (4) is grabbed and taken off, and a coiled cross-wound bobbin (4) in the creel (8) is replaced by an empty tube (9) through a replacing device (7). The yarn fed to the empty tube (9) is fixed on the tube (9) to continue the winding process. According to the invention, when the yarn coiled in the tube (9) is broken, the yarn introduced in the tubes (5, 9) is refixed by the replacing device (7) to the tubes (5, 9) in the creel.
