System and method for file recovery

The invention discloses a method for file recovery. The method comprises the steps of searching defect files in a user device and obtaining file names of the defect files; receiving predetermined instructions, extracting related information out of the defect files, and generating first characteristic information; obtaining recovered files corresponding to the first characteristic information; and replacing the defect files with the recovered files. The invention further discloses a system for file recovery. According to the method and system for file recovery, the defect files in the user device can be recovered more effectively, and the user device can run normally.
