The invention discloses a method and a system for managing a word library of video resources. The method includes acquiring vocabulary information of dictionaries and using the vocabulary information as a foundation of the word library of the video resources; adding acquired vocabulary information of the video resources into a main portion of the word library of the video resources; adding acquired vocabulary information searched by users to a supplement portion of the word library of the video resources. The word library of the video resources comprises the foundation, the main portion and the supplement portion. The method and the system have the advantages that owing to the method and the system, the word library of the video resources is high in integrity and correctness, and accordingly fundamental guarantee can be provided for high-quality search engines.
