The belt strip is wound onto a tyre building drum in such a way that the triangular end regions (3, 4) extend next to one another, at least in certain regions. At least one of the triangular regions (3, 4) is changed in its alignment, at least in certain regions. This achieves the effect that the triangular regions (3, 4) extend next to one another on the tyre building drum with matching edge contours.
