Zusammenfassung:	A method for treating human skin comprising the steps of a) identifying a subject deficient in caspase-14; wherein the caspase-14 deficiency is identified by the presence of a skin condition selected from the group consisting of eczema, xerotic skin, and skin dryness in at least one skin zone of the subject; and b) activating caspase-14 in human skin by administering to a subject in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of a composition comprising one or more extracts selected from the group consisting of litchi, glasswort, peach, soja seed, sweet basil, cucumber, chanterelle, leek, kiwi fruit, rhubarb, grapefruit, wheat, raspberry, plum, and mixtures thereof.
