The invention discloses a method for selecting a wireless relay in a low-frequency-stage and low-power-consumption wireless local area network. The method includes the steps that firstly, ordinary stations collect information of available relay stations; secondly, the relay stations send data reported by the ordinary stations to access points through detection motion report frames; thirdly, the relay stations are distributed to the ordinary stations respectively through the access points; fourthly, the access points inform the ordinary stations of the distribution result obtained in the third step. According to the method, a least number of relay stations can be used, competition for channels among the stations can be reduced, and the use ratio of bandwidth resources can be improved.
