The invention provides a novel auger bit. The bit comprises a cylindrical drilling rod and a bit body extending upwards from the drilling rod, wherein a drilling head is detachably fixed on the top of the bit body; the drilling head is combined with the top of the bit body by a combining rod; the bit body is provided with two chip troughs symmetrically; the chip troughs are arranged on the bit body in a spiral shape in an extending manner; a ridge part is arranged between the chip troughs; a second wing face is arranged on one side of the ridge part. The novel auger bit is simple in structure, convenient to assemble and disassemble and good in cutting effect; a workpiece is prevented from secondary damages, and the machining efficiency and the yield of finished products are improved.
