Method for selectively breeding black glutinous rice

The invention relates to a method for selectively breeding black glutinous rice. The method comprises the following detailed steps of: (1) hybridizing a black glutinous rice variety with a red glutinous rice variety to obtain an F1 generation, wherein all the seed husks of the F1 generation seeds are black; sowing the F1 generation to obtain an F2 generation; (2) sowing the F2 generation and separating a plant with black seed husks and a plant with white seed husks from the F2 generation; sowing plant seeds with excellent agronomic characters, deep black seed husks and glutinous endosperm; carrying out selfing for 6-8 generations to obtain the required variety. The rice bred by the method is good in glutinous property and excellent in growth vigour after being sown in large lands, the stems are thick and strong, the coarse rice is black, and the yield of the rice bred by the method is equivalent to that of the current high-yield white glutinous rice.
