The invention discloses a method and device for message pushing. According to the technical scheme, when a mobile terminal receives a message of an instant messaging application program which is correspondingly installed on the mobile terminal, a corresponding message prompting rule is determined according to a present scene state, and whether a no-disturbing rule corresponding to the message prompting rule exists or not is further judged. If the corresponding no-disturbing rule exists and a present condition conforms to a corresponding triggering condition, the message is pushed according to the no-disturbing rule. Therefore, different messages are pushed by the mobile terminal according to specific situations by adopting different message prompting rules and different no-disturbing rules. Under some special situations (such as the rest period of a user), unimportant messages are not prompted any more, so that unnecessary disturbance for the user is avoided.
