The water-based coating has environmental friendliness, water tolerance, fastness, stain resistance, chap resistance, ageing resistance and fidelity of over 98 percent. The water-based coating comprises the following components in parts by weight: 190 to 192 parts of water, 4 to 6 parts of modified fiber, 7 to 9 parts of a dispersing wetting agent, 5 to 7 parts of a defoaming agent, 2 to 4 parts of a preservative, 7 to 9 parts of a mildew preventive, 19 to 21 parts of a slow drying agent, 24 to 26 parts of a film-forming aid, 148 to 152 parts of a pigment filler, 254 to 256 parts of a cloth art main material, 310 to 315 parts of low vinylidene chloride polymer emulsion, 7 to 9 parts of an accelerant and 9 to 11 parts of a thickening flatting agent.
