Elevator system and elevator control method

The invention provides an elevator system and an elevator control method which can surely cope with scheduled power outage. Whether a moment of scheduled power outage response arrives or not is determined (S10). When the moment of the scheduled power outage response arrives, a running mode is switched from a normal running mode to a scheduled power outage response mode (S12). At a call moment (S13), a time needed by the elevator to each a targeted floor is calculated (S14), and whether a predetermined arrive moment to arrive the targeted floor is earlier than a sleep starting moment is determined (S15). When the predetermined arrive moment is determined to be earlier than the sleep starting moment, the elevator is enabled to run (S16). When the predetermined arrive moment is determined to be not earlier than the sleep starting moment, the elevator is prohibited from departing (S17). When a sleep starting moment arrives, the elevator goes into a sleep mode and sleeps (S18, S19).
