The method comprises that at first, according to a long straight line characteristic of an airfield runway, a Steger algorithm is used for strengthening a linear object in the image, and the central point of the linear object is determined through calculation of a characteristic value of the maximum absolute value of an Hessian matrix; then straight line detection is carried out on the result of the linear objects strengthened by the Steger algorithm through Hough conversion; and finally the position of an airport is determined through straight line connection and statistics.
