System and method for image data rescue service

The invention discloses a system and a method for image data rescue service. The system comprises an image data acquisition cataloguing unit, a data storage unit and a data application unit, wherein the image data acquisition cataloguing unit is used for acquiring image data of old magnetic tapes and primarily cataloguing the image data, the data storage unit is used for generating a low-bit-rate format and a high-bit-rate format for the acquired and catalogued image data and recording the high-bit-rate image data to generate a blu disc, and the data application unit is used for retrieving, browsing and downloading the stored image data in a local area network. The method includes the steps: (1) acquiring the image data on the old magnetic tapes and primarily cataloguing the image data; (2) generating the low-bit-rate format and the high-bit-rate format for the acquired image data and recording the high-bit-rate image data to generate the blu disc; and (3) retrieving, browsing and downloading the stored image
