According to the invention, for example the laser type, the pulse rate, the pulse duration, the workpiece material and/or the laser power are selected such that the distance of the notch sections (6) is considerably larger than the notch distance (K) that would be computationally obtained from the feed rate (V) of the laser beam (12) and/or of the workpiece (1) and the pulse rate of the laser. The described feed modulation also enables the formation of oblique laser notches for rolling surfaces, as they occur, for example, in ball or roller guides. According to the invention, the feed rate is also modulated during laser machining depending on the workpiece geometry and/or periodically. |
