The tappet is characterized in that an elastic assembly is arranged between a base of the tappet and an adjusting piston, a tappet cover covers the adjusting piston, an adjusting cam is arranged between the tappet cover and the adjusting piston, and the tappet cover of the tappet is directly or indirectly contacted with an air valve. Compared with the prior art, the length of the tappet provided by the invention can be adjusted according to actual requirements, and the variable valve stroke mechanism can realize full-continuous control.
