The invention adopts the technical scheme that an L*a*b* color space of a color carrier image is represented by quaternary supercomplex number; readable watermark information is encoded and modulated to generate a two-dimensional watermark signal in a form of the quaternary supercomplex number; and the watermark embedding position is determined by a uniform discrete logarithmic polar coordinates method.
