Data backup system and method

The invention discloses a data backup system which comprises a generation module, a backup module and an updating module, wherein the generation module is used for generating a backup file corresponding to a backup time according to data needing backup when the system time of a server reaches the backup time set by a user; the backup module is used for generating a folder named with the current date as a rotation date when a folder named with the current data as the rotation date does not exist in the server, and the backup file is stored in the generated folder; and the updating module is used for overwriting the file with the same name as the name of the backup file in the folder by using the backup file when the folder named with the current date as the rotation date exists in the server. The invention also provides a data backup method. By adopting the invention, mass of data can be subjected to backup.
