The invention provides a doripenem intermediate compound shown in formula (XIV), wherein PNB is p-nitrobenzyl and HX is acid; in addition, when HX is monobasic acid, n=1; when HX is polybasic acid, n=2. The invention also provides a method for preparation of the doripenem intermediate compound (XIV) and a method for preparation of doripenem (I) by the doripenem intermediate compound (XIV) in an easier way at low production cost for high yield. The new mono-protection doripenem intermediate compound provided by the invention contains only one protecting group, thereby lowering the difficulty and complexness of the following step of catalytic hydrogenation for deprotection. Therefore, the yield of catalytic hydrogenation reaction is increased, the production cost for final product is reduced, the operation is simple, and the compound is suitable for industrialized production.
