The invention relates to a method and equipment for providing point-of-interest (POI) information for a user at a mobile terminal. The method comprises the following steps of: acquiring the current position of the mobile terminal; and providing the POI information related to the current position for the user according to the behavior of the user at the current position and/or the behavior of friends of the user at the current position. The POI can be sorted in the presence of a plurality of pieces of related POI information. By various embodiments of the invention, according to the method and equipment for providing the POI information for the user at the mobile terminal, the POI information which is relatively valuable is provided for the user according to the behavior of the user or the behavior of the friends of the user in a social network or combination of the behaviors, and the user experience is greatly improved.
