The invention discloses a compressing system for image data, which comprises an image blocking module, a dispatch module, a code stream organizing module and a plurality of compressing modules, wherein the image blocking module receives inputted image data, blocks the image data by row or column according to the image processing width of the compressing modules, and acquires unit image data; the dispatch module correspondingly outputs the unit image data to the compressing modules in a flow sequence; and the compressing modules compress and output the unit image data, wherein each compressing module receives unit image data at a time. The code stream organizing module sequences and outputs compressed unit image data output by the compressing modules. By adopting the system, wide and large data quantity image data can be compressed and processed in a real time manner.
