The invention provides a dimming circuit and a control method which are suitable for light emitting diode (LED) lighting equipment, a micro controller and a phase angle detection method for the micro controller. The dimming circuit is suitable for controlling at least one LED element and comprises at least one rectification device, a discharging circuit, a phase angle detection circuit, a current control circuit and a micro processor, wherein the phase angle detection circuit is coupled with the micro processor; and the micro processor generates a modulation signal according to a signal output by the phase angle detection circuit and adjusts the current control circuit coupled with the LED element so as to control the output brightness of the LED element.
