Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic sensor unit capable of narrowing a gap between a medium conveyance surface and magnets without reducing rigidity of a cover plate covering the magnet.SOLUTION: A magnetic sensor unit 5 comprises: magnets 6, 7 for providing a magnetic field to a medium 2 to be read; a cover plate 11 which covers the magnets 6, 7; and a magnetic sensor device 8 for reading a magnetic pattern of the medium 2 which passes a surface on a side opposite to the magnets 6, 7, of the cover plate 11. The cover plate 11 is a composite plate including a front face side cover plate 14 having a medium conveyance surface 11a on a front face 14a; and a rear face side cover plate 15 which is laminated and fixed to a rear face 14b of the front face side cover plate 14. The rear face side cover plate 15 has attachment holes 154 into which the magnets 6, 7 are attached or inserted.
