The invention provides a method for prompting a user to perform touch operation on a mobile terminal. The method includes: detecting a touch prompting event specific to a touch panel of the mobile terminal; and displaying guiding animation on the touch panel according to the touch prompting event. The touch guiding animation is used for displaying a touch response path specific to the touch prompting event for the user. Correspondingly, the invention further provides a client for prompting the user to perform touch operation on the mobile terminal. The method for prompting the user to perform touch operation on the mobile terminal and the client have the advantages that the touch guiding animation is displayed according to the touch prompting event, the required touch response path is visually and vividly displayed for the user, misoperation rate of the user can be reduced, and input touch operation efficiency of the user is improved.
