The invention discloses a third party positioning method and a system as well as a mobile terminal, wherein the third party positioning method comprises the following steps: the mobile terminal receives a positioning request sent by a positioning management platform; the mobile terminal judges whether a voice calling service is carried out or not at present; and if the voice calling service is carried out at present, the mobile terminal sends positioning result data which are obtained by positioning to the positioning management platform through short messages when the mobile terminal starts with a positioning manner based on calculation of the mobile terminal for positioning. According to the embodiment of the invention, the technical problem of failed third party positioning, caused by an MSA (Mobile Station Assisted) positioning manner and an MSB (Mobile Station Based) positioning manner when the mobile terminal carries out the voice calling, can be solved.
