Zusammenfassung:	In order to effectively remove metallic contaminants adhered to the surface of a glass substrate, without increasing the roughness of the glass substrate surface, in a glass substrate for magnetic disk, a method for producing a glass substrate for magnetic disk, having a step for rinsing the glass substrate, is provided with a rinsing step having a rinsing process in which a glass substrate is brought into contact with an alkali aqueous solution having a pH of 9 to 11, to which a gluconate salt having a concentration of 0.05 wt% to 2 wt% has been added.
