Device for watering an area

The invention relates to a device (10) for watering an area, in particular a lawn, wherein the device (10) has a support device (12), a liquid distributing device (26) mounted thereon, comprising a plurality of jets (36), and a shielding device (46), comprising at least one shielding element (48) to shield liquid streams (68) exiting from at least one part of the jets (36). The aim of the invention is to refine such a device (10) to make it more user-friendly. According to the invention, this is achieved in that the shielding device (46) on the device (10) is held in a movable manner, and the shielding element(s) (48) can be converted from a release position to a shield position and vice-versa, wherein liquid streams (68) exit the jets (36) freely in the release position, and the liquid streams (68) exiting out of at least a part of the jets (36) can be shielded in at least one direction in the shield position.
