Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a two-stroke engine. The two-stroke engine (1) comprises a combustion chamber (3) disposed in a cylinder (2) and delimited by a piston (5). The piston drives a crankshaft (7) supported in a crankcase (4) rotatably in a rotary manner. In at least one position of the piston, the crankcase is connected by at least one transfer passage (18, 20) with the combustion chamber. The two-stroke engine comprises an outlet (22), an air passage (9), and a mixture passage (8) from the combustion chamber, wherein the mixture passage is communicated to a cylinder hole (30) through a mixture inlet (10) and is subject to the piston for slot type distribution. The transfer passage is connected by a piston recess (12) to the air passage in a top dead center (OT) area of the piston. For preventing halt of the two-stroke engine during load bearing and reduction of rotating speed (n), the piston recess is connected to the mixture inlet in at least one position of the piston.
