The invention discloses a method for growing tumor on surface of cBN (Cubic Boron Nitride) powder, which comprises the following steps of: degreasing, coarsening, sensitizing, activating and reducing the cBN powder; then, chemically plating the cBN powder under the condition of heating the chemical plating liquid to 70-90 DEG C in a water bath, washing the whole cBN powder into a container holding the chemical plating liquid by using the plating liquid, and agitating the liquid for 20-40 min under the condition of 300-500 r/min. Tumor-like metallic nickel or composite are grown on the surface of a superhard material through the chemical plating method, and the binding force between the superhard material cBN and the substrate can be increased by 30-40% after the material is made into a grinding tool, and the service life of the grinding tool is prolonged by 3-4 times.
