The invention relates to the field of machinery, in particular to a disinfecting cutter holder and a method for disinfecting a cutter by using the same. A sterilizing device is fixed in the disinfecting cutter holder, is used for sterilizing the cutter placed into the disinfecting cutter holder and comprises a heat releasing device, an ultraviolet ray device and a drying device, wherein the heat releasing device is used for releasing heat to sterilize and disinfect; the ultraviolet ray device sterilizes and disinfects through the irradiation of ultraviolet rays; the drying device is used for removing water on the cutter to dry the cutter; the water removed from the cutter passes through a water-guiding through hole; and the water-guiding through hole is formed on a shell on the lower part of the disinfecting cutter holder.
