Zusammenfassung: | A thermal barrier coating system (5) on a base material (1) is proposed comprising a bond coat layer (2) on its lower face in direct contact with said base material (1) and on its upper face in direct contact with a first ceramic layer (3). The thermal barrier coating system comprises further a second ceramic layer (4) on the outermost, hot gas exposed surface of the coating system. The first ceramic layer (3) consists of yttria- stabilised zirconia (ZrO2) with a yttria content in the range of 6-8 wt-% (6w/o to 8w/o Y2O2), of YTaO4 doped zirconia and/or titania doped zirconia. The material of the second ceramic layer (4, 4a, 4b) is selected from the group of: YTaO4 doped zirconia, titania doped zirconia, scandia stabilised zirconia, ceria containing perovskite material, yttrium aluminium garnet material, Monazite material, spinel material, and combinations, mixtures, alloys, blends or multilayer structures thereof, with the proviso that if the first ceramic layer (3) consists of YTaO4 doped zirconia and/or ti |
